Transformative Mindfulness Facilitator Training.
Dekyi-Lee Oldershaw and Teresa Beckett launched the first remote/online facilitator training in Transformative Mindfulness in English, beginning in July 2011. This consists of:
Level One prerequisite program, Introduction to Transformative Mindfulness Methods. 6 telesessions facilitated by Dekyi-Lee Oldershaw. The next Level 1 Introductory telecourse begins January 10, 2012. Click here for details of next course.
Level 2: Deepening Transformative Mindfulness Self-Practice for Personal Healing Telecourse - 5 sessions biweekly with self-practice at home began October 22 consisting of . This is a prerequisite for the next Facilitator Training Level. Click here for course description and next starting date.
Level 3: Transformative Mindfulness Certified Facilitator Training consists of 6-10 training modules consisting of 4 - 6 telesessions each which include the main methods, continued self-practice at home, peer practice telesessions and case studies with supervision and support. The first module will begin in spring 2012.

Facilitated by Dekyi-Lee Oldershaw, Valerie Spironello (Canada) and Valentina Dolara (Italy) This series of training modules is specifically designed for anyone wanting to make a difference by helping others - parents who want to help their children and teens, youth to help their friends, adults for their family, friends, work colleagues and caregiving. These methods are highly effective for professionals in education institutions, family support, health care, therapy, counselling, complementary therapies, social services, addiction, child care, hospice, the arts, prisons, human resources and any place where people are searching for self-empowered change.
The training is specially geared for adaptation for any age group, tradition or culture.
Basic Training Modules consisting of 4 to 6 telesessions with at-home resources, self-practice, peer-practice, case studies, supervision and support are:
- Transforming Problems Receptive Visualization
- Intuitive Body Scan Receptive Visualization
- Enhancing Positive Qualities, Health and Potential Receptive Visualization
- Transforming Inner Conflict for Peace Receptive Visualization
- Mindfulness and Practical Meditation
You will gain the tools to help:
1. Yourself– self-help to cope with and change intense work and personal situations
2. Clients of all ages and their families with mental or physical suffering and also educating them to continue with mindfulness exercises, meditations and self-healing
3. Other professionals who work with people’s physical and mental health, education and well-being

REPORT
Medical and mental health professionals complete training in Transformative Mindfulness methods at University of Florence, Italy in March 2010:
The program, initially hosted by the Pain Management Clinic, included several on-site training sessions over two years followed by the practice section of the training, which was supervised via webcam over 5 months. Prof. Piero Dolara, Professor of Pharmacology, offered administrative and academic supervision and international trainer and developer of the methods, Dekyi-Lee Oldershaw facilitated with Valentina Dolara, who also translated and coordinated.
As a result of this successful initial training of health professionals, an inaugural Master's Degree program in Meditation and Mindfulness: Neuroscience and Clinical Application in the Helping Professions began January 2011 and, will include Transformative Mindfulness intervention methods for the first time in the world. This is offered by the University of Florence, Neurology and Psychiatry Departments in Florence, Italy.
As well, research will begin at the university's Centre for Pain Management in fall 2011 under the supervision of Dr. Piero Dolara, beginning with the effectiveness of these methods for pain sufferers.
