"In a world where we often feel stuck in hopelessness and helplessness, an intervention strategy that is showing it has the ability to transform suffering and demoralization, is something we wish to explore and understand. We welcome Transformative Mindfulness Methods to the palette of mindfulness and mindfulness meditation strategies that we are teaching at the Factor-Inwentash Faculty of Social Work."

By engaging at a deeper level of compassionate presence, participants will advance in their capacity to experience the full potential of these methods and gain confidence from self-practice and clinical application with individuals. Many practitioners have reported that due to adding these methods to their clinical practices, they have become re-inspired in their work to hold others' suffering.

You will:

  • learn skilful applications of each method and explore adaptability and support requiredfor different age groups and specific problems
  • deepen with supervised peer practice and 15 case-based practices with peer supportand feedback
  • deepen theory, neuroscience and Buddhist psychology embedded in the effectiveness of each method as well as research potential.
  • strengthen peer support through an international community of practitioners and senior facilitators

A paper with findings from self-practice and case-based practice studies and a self-reflection summary will need to be completed before certification. Supervision and support includes a review of peer and practice case reports with written feedback or a short phone interview. A practice journal and report forms will be provided.
